

The Pinjarra Harness Racing Club has announced an increase in stake for its feature event – The 2012 Pinjarra Pacing Cup, as well as new and innovative feature races throughout the current season.
The time honoured Pinjarra Pacing Cup will be raced for a stake of $40,000 on Foundation Day holiday (WA) June 4th, 2012. The 2670 metre mobile start event has attracted a stellar field in recent seasons and has a long history dating back to 1955. Last season Ohoka Du Nord came from last on the turn to win for Trainer/Driver Grant Williams, Williams also secured an emotional victory in 2010 with Precious Dylan.
The club felt that as the leading Country harness racing club in Western Australia the clubs feature race should lead the way also, the race will now be the highlight of the Country harness racing season. Alcoa Alumina Australia has been the sponsor of the Pinjarra Cup for the last 37 years and has once again been approached to sponsor into the future.
Also the club known for innovation has announced the date for a one-off SUPER 9’s event, Inter Dominion invited drivers races, revitalisation of a Mandurah Cup and a new Country Championship series at the end of the season.
